Councillors

Councillors with responsibility across social care, health, education, transport, housing or leisure play a pivotal role in driving improved care and support outcomes at local level. By championing the vision of PPF, you could be instrumental in ensuring whole system and cultural change. Your support for the introduction of Personal Budgets, for example, will be crucial. Likewise, the support and encouragement you can offer providers will help them to adapt and develop new services.
As councils redesign their systems to suit local needs and circumstances, councillors will be in a good position to help broker key partnerships between central and local government, and between the council workforce and providers. Partnerships that will be essential to the success of PPF.
The PPF programme also requires continuous engagement with service users, families and carers. And here again, as a councillor, you could help to ensure that these stakeholders are fully engaged at every level of the development and implementation of local transformation programmes.
This section provides you with the news, information and resources you require to help drive PPF forward.
